Recent Run Report

Well not much to report here, we have had a dry spell on runs lately.

Don't Miss the May run it is a weekend camping trip Memorial Day weekend outside of Red Bluff contact Bob Cole for more info.

As most of you know John and Red Bob (with better halves in tow) headed out to Moab a couple days after easter and we haven't seen hide nor hair of them since.  Well I do know they made it out alive, as they left Moab after a couple weeks of playing there for parts unknown to end up in Branson (yes in the State of Missouri pronounced Misery). I have heard they are having a great trip, in fact they were supposed to be back by the end of May and just recently heard it will be the Middle of June when they return.

PLEASE PLEASE
if anyone knows of upcoming events you think we can get attention from a crowd, parades, car shows etc. please pass it on so I can check into registration etc. Most of the time the Registration starts a month of so prior to the event.

We were invited to help out the Redding Trade Club with the operation of the Beer Booth at Hot Orama.  Joyce and I , Herb and Mary spent most of the morning it was a good time even got to work in the shade for the most part.  Once everthing is tallied up the Trade club will be sharing the profits with the Volunteers.

Speaking of Hot Orama, once again the Bloody Stump 4 Wheelers and the Black Sheep put on the Rock Crawl at Hot Orama
In a effort to sell Raffle Tickets Pam with the Black Sheep worked with the Hot Orama folks to get a place to park the New Rubicon and Long Bob and I worked things out with SJ Denham to have a new Rubicon at Hot Orama
on Saturday During the Rock Crawl Event.
Well I don't know how well it worked but we sold 1 book of tickets and 1 Single ticket the whole time there.
Thank you to those who showed up that day to help out.

For those of you that have Shares Cards I encourage each and every one of you to use them everytime you visit FOOD MAX. So far we have collected over $100.00 since we started using them.  If more of us participate the better the returns will be.  If you DO NOT have a Shares Card contact Jim Williams for one.
(This is money we don't have to work for)

I realize some folks have been asking what we need money for in the clubs treasury well let me try to explain.

We are a non-profit organization, we should be helping to support organizations that are fighting to keep Access open.  Not to mention get out and do our share to keep access open so we continue to be able to enjoy our Sport of Choice.  We should also be making an effort to promote responsible motorized recreation.
With all the negative publicity that has been spreading about how OHV users are tearing up the forests, roads and meadows we shold be doing our part to help show that there are responsible OHV'ers out there.
We should have Tread Trainers certified by Tread Lightly to put on demonstrations at events like RV and Boat Shows, Home and Garden shows, Recreation / Vacation Shows
Hot Orama, Cool April Nites, Shasta District Fair. and others.
By doing things like this we not only support responsible wheeling we also get the Clubs name in the spotlight so to speak.

Ok I am getting off the soapbox for now

Jim

Hope to see you all at the next meeting.
